One year ago, In May 2023, world-renowned waterman Kai Lenny was in Uluwatu (Bali, Indonesia) on a surf foil trip when an unexpected wipeout left him without his board. Wanting to keep the session going, he reached out to us, and our pro rider Tom Constant flew in from France with a complete Phantom Strato surf foil setup for Kai to try.

That’s where this story begins.

During his session, Kai used the Phantom Strato S 4’6 30L board, known for its robust sandwich carbon construction, combining strength and a compact shape tailored for surf foiling. The board's design facilitates fast take-offs and agile maneuverability, supporting advanced moves such as 360s and backflips in capable hands.

Paired with the Strato 75 mast, the 4'6 S Strato 30L board formed the perfect setup for surf foiling. The mast's stiffness ensures a quick response from the foil, offering excellent reactivity and control. Its optimized leading edge provides smooth water penetration, while the rigidity allows for strong, precise pressure during turns, enhancing both performance and maneuverability.
